California Special guitars seem like old friends, but more refined. The familiar body shape and in-line peghead arrangement are perfect for those situations where the "hippie sandwich" look might not appropriate. Your fifties cover tune band should probably look the part.

You might overlook subtle body contours at first glance, but once you wear a California Special, you'll never forget them - it fits like a glove. Likewise with the slim, fast neck. It's really important to know about what creates a guitar. A machine doesn't know how good it feel to play a wonderful instrument, but Kris, Tony and Mike do. They all know the contours that make a great neck. They can also follow your exact instructions for the neck shape, and you can even send your favorite guitar neck to us and we'll recreate it on your new instrument.

Elegant electronics offer clean signal reproduction. Unlike most manufacturers, we don't "voice" our pickups. Their only job is to faithfully reproduce the motion of the string into the corresponding electrical signals. The with our unique low-pass filter tone control, you select the "voice" you want for the pickup. The filter has a natural resonance just like an acoustic guitar top. Many people mistake our electric guitars for acoustic ones on recordings.

Pickup selection is a breeze. With an on/off mini-toggle switch for each pickup, you can access any combination of the humcancelling pickups, including all on and all off.
